Carl Helrich decided to bring the Mansfield University yearbook back when he found a lot of old ones in an Alumni Hall storage closet.
The yearbook originally ran from 1918-1990, and was brought back and published for the 2014 to 2015 school year. It was planned for the 2015 to 2016 school year but was never published.
The Mansfield University Yearbook is called Carontawan. It means a little town on a big hill. The last known copy of this yearbook is from 2014. His goal with bringing it back is making social connections with people in the year they’re in. The yearbook committee currently has six members on it and are looking for more people. To learn more information about joining you can email cartowan@mounties.mansfield.edu. They have meetings every Wednesday at 4 p.m. as well. Right now the primary focus for the yearbook is the student directory and staff members.
They would also love photos at college this semester, whether on campus, your favorite study spot, at home and even zoom screenshots. You can send your photos to the yearbook’s Instagram @carontawanmu or send them to the email yearbook@mounties.mansfield.edu.
This is a yearbook personalized for the students. The theme for the yearbook this year is #MountieSpirit. The deadline for content will be some time at the beginning of April, further announcements about the deadline will be made at the beginning of the spring semester. The final product will be a PDF that will be free for everyone.
