Vice President Zhamya Hampton reported that there are three committees that must be filled by members. A vote was held to decide which movie would be shown at the movie night, and “Jumanji” won with the most votes.

PR Director Shae Marx mentioned the idea of buying shirts for everyone in SGA and using them for recruitment as well. Director of Technology Cuong Le reported that he is working on updating the SGA website.

Carontawan Representative Carl Helrich reported that everyone should have gotten an email about how to submit information to the yearbook. Those who would like to submit information or photos to the yearbook can do so by emailing yearbook@mounties.mansfield.edu or DM’ing @carontawanmu on Instagram. The deadline is the beginning of April.

Student Veterans Affairs Representative Jenna Vasquez asked if anyone knew if Trunk or Treat was still happening in Mansfield this year. Director of Technology Cuong Le answered that the Chamber of Commerce is looking into the matter and there will be more information at a later date.

During old business, the body discussed the policy change that would add a three-year term limit for the faculty representative. President Tony reported that it would allow for more faculty to cycle through and see how SGA works and makes decisions. Some members dissented, by saying that a faculty member who has more experience with SGA can offer more insight.

Senator Patrick Murphy motioned for a division of the House vote, in which every member’s vote would be counted and noted in the minutes. Eight members were in favor of, while five members were opposed to the policy change. The motion failed because it was not 2/3 majority.

Treasurer Sarah Hart motioned to discuss the webinar event for October 2, 2020. Vice President Zhamya informed the body that it will be available on Zoom. The motion for $3,250 passed.

In old business, Parliamentarian Amina Alexander motioned to approve the House of Representatives application for Hannah James. She was approved as a new member to represent PCMEA.

Faculty Representative Dr. Todd Ranney encouraged everyone to continue to be healthy on campus and off-campus.

Faculty Advisor Dr. Kane pushed students to wear their masks at all times indoors, unless they are eating or in their rooms. He also announced the September 17, 2020 is Constitution Day, and the university will be sending out an email to recognize it. He then asked the members what social media they used to find out what was happening on campus. The majority responded with Instagram and email.

During announcements, Vice President Zhamya Hampton reported that she is planning self-care Saturdays for the whole student body.

Meeting adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
