Peaceful Protest in Town

Women from the Health Ministries at Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield were participating in a peaceful protest against abortion on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

The protest involved handmade signs with sayings like, “adoption is an option,” and “smile, your mom chose life.” With masks on, the women stood on the four corners of main street holding said signs up. There was no chanting or screaming.

Laurie Coffee commented that the protest had been mostly received well. “There are those few, but everyone’s pretty nice.” A few individuals even beeped to show their support as they drove by.

Health Ministries also participates in the March for Life in January and they do a Stand for Life as well. “We believe that life is a priority,” said Coffee. “And we want everyone to know that.”

Health Ministries also helps the mothers, not just the children. Coffee said that by supporting the mother, people are also helping the baby. “So many moms are scared, but by just helping them, you can save a life.”
